Personal Statement

Early in my career I was privileged to be mentored by some of the innovative poneers in the art of mediation while working with Los Angeles Superior Court Mediation Services.  Out of this experience came my dedication to encouraging and assisting parents to stay out of the adversarial system

In 1986, I continued to impact family issues by being appointed to the California Senate Task Force on Family Equity, a task force set up by the California legislature to make legislative recommendations relating to family court. I was appointed to this Task Force to represent the concerns of fathers.  During the 90's, I spread the word by lecturing, being on the Board of Modern Dad magazine, and a Board Member of the California Association of Legal Document Assistants.  In 2001, the Orange County District Attorney, Family Support Division, selected me to present "the father's perspective" for their customer service training.  In 2001, 2002, and 2004, my work with fathers was recognized by the nonprofit receiving a Community Service Award from Disneyland Resort.  In 2004, this award was the prestigious Jack B. Lindquist Award, one of the highest awards given to nonprofit organizations by Disneyland Resort.

My education, training, and experience has given me the tools, going through my own divorce has given me the empathy, and working with fathers for over 30 years has given me the experience to assist you with the roller-coaster of emotions you will be experiencing. As your divorce coach, I will assist you in learning and applying new communication and conflict resolution skills.  We will work together to separate emotional and behavioral roadblocks that interfere with making sound legal decisions.  You will not be alone.  I will be there to assist you during this transition.  Together we will identify and defuse the hot emotional buttons. We will proactively discover constructive win-win options and positive solutions. I will help you grow through, not simply go through, your divorce experience.
